Scouts who participate in summer camp activities may qualify for advancements under the new Cub Scouting program.
Sample Advancements That May be Earned at Camp
The following list is a sample of the adventures and electives that may be a part of the summer camp program. (This list is incomplete and all advancements are subject to change.)
All Cub Camps with specific advancements will provide a final list at the event, with most handing it out at the end of the event.
Each camp operates a well-stocked store that will be open each day. Items include craft supplies, camp souvenirs, candy, soda, fruit juices, snack items, Scouting literature, camp t-shirts and camp activity patches. Most youth spend between $30-40 at our trading post.
Northeast Illinois Council and Three Harbors Council, at your request, will write a letter to your company or supervisor telling them you took your time to volunteer to make a summer program available to boys. Request forms will be available at the office at camp.
All lost and found items are kept in the camp office. If you find something, please give it to a staff member or bring it to the camp office. If you lose something, please alert the camp staff as soon as possible. All unclaimed items will be brought to the Three Harbors Council Scout Service Center at the end of the season. Any items still unclaimed by October 1, 2016 will be disposed of or donated.
Each overnight camp session will include a Scout’s Own multi-faith religious service. If you would like to attend services specific to your faith, the camp management can help you find a place of worship near camp.
Upon arrival at camp, please check in at the camp office. To reduce congestion, we recommend sending one leader to check in your group. When checking in, please be sure to turn in a medical form for each participant, including adults. Health forms will not be returned, so please make copies for your records before you arrive at camp. During the check-in process, you will receive participant wristbands, maps, schedules and any other pertinent information. For overnight camps, you will be assigned to a campsite and shown how to get there in your vehicle. Once you arrive at your site, please unload your car and then promptly return it to the parking lot.
At the end of each camp session, you will be asked to fill out a survey evaluating your experiences at camp. We ask that you complete these evaluations so that we can improve our program and structure to make camp the best it possibly can be. As you leave camp on the last day, one leader from each unit will be given the event patches for the entire group. Please be sure to officially check out of camp at the camp office on your way out.
